Corrupt SRS file

Your sending and receiving preferences and customizations are saved with the extension .srs in a file. By chance, if the file gets corrupted, you may be facing problems in sending emails. To fix this, locate the .srs file. Paste the following in the address bar of the Windows explorer after opening it and press enter.
%appdata%\microsoft\outlook

Search for the .srs file and delete it  or rename it. The problem should be fixed.

Another program accessing the .pst or .ost data

The main sign of this problem and probably the most common one is that your email shows sent in the first place but later on hangs in the mailbox. However if you get a send/receive error code too like this - Task '<account> - Sending' reported error (0x80040119) : 'Unknown Error 0x80040119, it means another program is accessing your .pst or .ost data.

a. Open Control panel.
b. In “show profiles”, choose the account you are facing problems with and right click to select properties.
c. Select “data files”.
d. The file having a black check mark in front of it will be the .pst file. Remember its location.
e. Next close down outlook.
f. Open the Outlook inbox repair tool. It is located in :

   32-bit version of Windows: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\

   64-bit version of Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\

   64-bit Outlook: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\

g. In the name box, type the location of the file and press enter or start.

Your problem should be fixed. If it still persists, please contact the Outlook customer support.
